By Two Georgia prosecutors are refusing to step down from the election case involving Donald Trump, even though they admitted to having a personal relationship. Fani Willis, the Fulton County District Attorney, said the claims of conflict of interest were false and that they were working in good faith. Nathan Wade, another prosecutor on the case, admitted in a document that they had a personal relationship in 2022. Trump and his co-defendants want them removed from the case, saying it’s inappropriate and that they gained financially. But Willis says they don’t meet the requirements to be removed under Georgia law. A hearing is set for February 15 to discuss this issue. If Trump’s team succeeds, it could affect the case significantly, possibly needing a new prosecutor to be appointed.
